Terms of Service

Effective and last updated: 22 October 2026

These terms set the ground rules for using inferenz.in. They apply to the website only: work we do for clients is governed by a separate written agreement.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at inferenz.in (the "Site") operated by Inferenz ("Inferenz", "we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

If you use the Site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

2. About the Site and our services

The Site provides information about Inferenz and our work in applied AI, machine learning and software development, and lets you contact us. The Site includes interactive demonstrations (for example neural-network, gradient-descent and attention visualisations). These demos are illustrative and educational: they run in your browser, use simulated or illustrative data, and do not represent the performance, accuracy or behaviour of any specific model or product we deliver.

Content on the Site is general information, not professional, legal, financial or technical advice, and nothing on the Site is a binding offer, quotation or guarantee of results.

3. Client engagements

Any consulting, development, data or AI services we provide are governed by a separate written agreement, such as a statement of work or master services agreement, that sets out scope, fees, deliverables, timelines, confidentiality and intellectual-property terms. If those documents conflict with these Terms, they prevail for the services they cover. Contacting us through the Site does not create a client relationship, a duty of confidentiality or an obligation on either side to enter into a contract.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site unlawfully or in a way that infringes anyone's rights;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, our systems or other users' data;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Site, including by sending malware, overloading it, or running automated scraping or load-testing without our written permission;
  • submit spam, fraudulent, abusive, defamatory or unlawful content through the contact form;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code from the Site except where the law permits;
  • misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or impersonate any person;
  • use the Site or its content to build a competing product or to train machine-learning models without our written permission.

5. Information you send us

When you contact us you must provide accurate information and have the right to share it. Do not send confidential, personal or regulated data, credentials or proprietary data sets through the contact form. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, anything you send us before we sign an agreement is not treated as confidential and we may use the ideas you describe to respond to your enquiry. We will handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual property

The Site, including its design, text, graphics, code, animations, the Inferenz name and the Inferenz logo, is owned by or licensed to Inferenz and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to view the Site for your own personal or internal business purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or exploit any part of the Site or our branding without our prior written permission. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners, and their appearance does not imply endorsement.

Open-source software used to build the Site remains subject to its own licences.

7. Third-party services and links

The Site relies on third-party services (for example hosting and fonts) and may link to external websites such as LinkedIn. We do not control those services or sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

8. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability or that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. We do not warrant that any information on the Site is complete, current or free of errors. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Inferenz and its founders, employees, contractors and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed INR 10,000 (or the equivalent in your currency). This does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for fraud or wilful misconduct. Liability under any client agreement is governed solely by that agreement.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inferenz from claims, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or content you submit that infringes the rights of others.

11. Availability, changes and termination

We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Site at any time without notice or liability. We may restrict or end your access if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Site, our users or the law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law, will survive.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally. If we cannot, the competent courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction, except that nothing prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief in any competent court. Mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply where you live are not affected.

13. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganisation or sale of the business. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version takes effect when posted on this page, as shown by the date above. Continuing to use the Site after that means you accept the updated Terms.
